[RUN]it - THE SIMULATION
[RUN]it - THE SIMULATION
The world around us...
The idea behind the game came very early on in the production cycle, almost at its inception. Max, our programmer has a lot of previous experience with parkour, and felt that was something we could bring to the table - an idea that the whole team found entirely encapsulating.
The idea centres around our protagonist (name still undecided), becoming self aware of the fact that they exist as a computer program inside a simulation, and their battle against their environment and a team of narcissistic devs to escape the simulation they once called home.
The game centres around a mainly cyberpunk/80's synth-punk style of vibrant neon's of pink and cyan, with a heavy emphasis on texture and lighting. As the game will be heavily reliant on movement and environmental interaction, we decided from the beginning that we wanted the game to be as simplistic and low poly as possible, while also retaining an element of detail and sophistication in the world.
The game will be fully PoV and immersive, with opportunities for players to explore while attempting to reach their goal, with a strong emphasis on progression and momentum.
You can see examples of the mood board for our world attached, and we will go into detail of how this will be achieved in coming posts.
See you in the next one...
